The
Rebecca Caudill Young Reader's Book Award is an annual book award selected by students grade sixth through eighth only in the state of Illinois. Students must read a minimum of three of the twenty nominated books in order to be able to vote. At NBJH, a party is held each February to celebrate the Caudill books, and allow students an opportunity to vote for their favorite book. In 2012, the winning book in the state of Illinois was
Powerless by Matthew Cody.
