This race is organized by the Northbrook District 28 PTO Council. All proceeds will benefit the the Homer O. Harvey Scholarship Fund.

Pre-Registration fees (before Sept. 14)

Age Groups: Awards for the overall male & female 5K winners, as well as the top male and female finishes of the following categories: Under 15, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70
Pre-Race Packet Pick-Up: Friday, Sept. 28 at the Northbrook District 28 office, 1475 Maple Ave., from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Packet pick-up on race day is from 7 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. in front of Northbrook Junior High School.
Kids' Race:
The Kids' Race kicks off at 9 a.m. in the field west of NBJH. All children ages 11 and under are invited to participate.

5K Run/Walk 2012 Route
The race begins adjacent and just south of the
entrance to Northbrook Junior High School (next to
the hockey rink/basketball courts).
Runners head north, then east on Maple Ave. to Waukegan Rd., follow Waukegan to Voltz Rd. and then run west on Voltz through the Park Place neighborhood. From there, they enter onto the trail that takes them one-half loop around the reservoir and into the Trail Through Time, where they make one loop around the golf course, back to do another one-half loop around the reservoir, and out onto Orchard St. They then head east on Maple, and turn just before the entrance to Northbrook Junior High to finish.

2011 Race Round-Up
The HOH 5K Run/Walk and Kids' Run raised over $5,000 for the Homer O. Harvey Scholarship Fund, which provides college scholarships for District 28 alumni. More than 300 adults and children participated in this event. Dozens of people volunteered their time to make this event a success!

About the Homer O. Harvey Scholarship Fund
The scholarship fund was established in 1989.
Scholarships are awarded to outstanding high school students who are graduates of District 28.
Dr. Homer O. Harvey was the superintendent of District 28 and dedicated his professional career to providing high standards of excellence and learning for our children. His family continues to be involved with the scholarship selection committee. |
