Greenbriar 2nd graders learned about milkweed and its importance to the survival of monarch butterflies. They started seeds and received a milkweed plant to bring home for their garden as part of a village-wide effort led by Dale Duda, market manager for Northbrook Farmers Market and a member of the Monarch Butterfly Conservation.  Duda leads a group of volunteers who have visited many Northbrook schools to educate students, provide seeds and a plant for their yards. “If we all do one little thing, we can make Northbrook a milkweed way station for the endangered migrating butterflies,” Duda said.
